Safely in it's New Home

She's Home
So now we are home safe and sound. Here the fun begins! First experience was trying to back it into the Driveway..let me just say "the thing has a mind of its own".  TG decided to take over after watching me give it a whirl..well he had to admit, it wasn't me! With some help from the neighbor (probably just making sure we weren't going to ruin his lawn nor his wifes car) it fit perfectly into the driveway with the car behind it. If it were any bigger it wouldn't work. Have I said how perfect it was for us :)? Now its time to unhitch the baby from the car. What happened to the Jockey Wheel? We lost it in transit! With some old bricks we got from another neighbor, we propped the trailer up. Gotta love good neighbors!
The search begins for a new Jockey wheel. Do we have a clue where to go? There's an amazing group of T@B Owners on Yahoo.  http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/tabtrailers/ A group we found while doing our research on purchasing one. While TG looked for trailer parts supply stores, I went to the group and posted a question regarding the issue asking if anyone had the problem and knew where we can get a new one. (The T@Bs aren't being manufactured anymore, making it a little more difficult to get parts or info, thus making this 'cult' of "Tabbies" invaluable) We both had good luck. He found a store ten minutes away, and I had received multiple emails with very generous offers from the group, willing to send us one for just the cost of the shipping. (some Tabbies had replaced their original wheel with a pnuematic one and still had the original). Supposedly this is something that happens often..so we were advised of what others did to prevent this from happening again. Thank you Tabbers! We decided to go to the store TG had found to see if they had what we were looking for. This experience will be in my next post! We came home with a wheel, and I thanked the individuals who so kindly offered us theirs. The next day I received an email from another new T@B owner who just had the same thing happen and asked for our advice. We were new Tabbers but now were able to help an even newer tabber. I forwarded the info, including the offers we received - after clearing it with the other parties of course- and felt good about being able to help out. As one member had told me..we're here to help each other.

Next Up - The Store TG found and never wanted to leave!  Stay Tuned..
