The Continuation

Wednesday (the Lazy day):  We woke up Wednesday to lots of rain and wind.  Got up and made some breakfast inside for the first time.  We were using the outdoor stoves to cook, but it was so nice to have the option to stay in and cook also.  The rain seemed to want to continue, so we decided to leave the slats and cushions in place, raised the 'headboard' to a reclining position, closed the shades, got back under the blankets and popped in... "Finding Nemo" into the built in TV/DVD/Radio Combo.  (What did you think I was gonna say ;)  )   Such a cute movie!  Do you remember from a previous post, about going a little off the beaten path and me stopping at a not-so-nice gas station for TG to ask for directions?  ..well, the quote I was referring to was Dory "What is it with men and asking for directions".  We both had a laugh at that one!
When the movie had ended I opened up the shade to find the Sun coming out - Perfect timing. Even Lexi couldn't wait to get out and soak up some sun.
Still having that "Lazy Day" feeling we didn't do much but take out the stoves and hammocks that we put in the car the night before to protect from the rain.  At about 4pm we decided to go into town to do a little touristy browsing, and check out the nature preserve just as few miles down the road.  Well the stores were all closed, I figured we would at least have until 5 before they closed. Oh well, no Rock Hall MD t-shirt. We've got plenty of memories that are far better..and our walking sticks compliments of the Chesapeake Bay!  We drove by the nature preserve and stopped but never got out of the car.. lazy! Let's head back and make a late lunch!  Too lazy to think of what to cook, we just put 2 burgers on the grill and called it a meal.    Since we didn't go into the nature preserve we decided to go 2 feet away from our site to explore and take some pictures.  Here are a few, but the slideshow at the bottom of this blog shows them all.

It's still Windy and Chilly so TG decided to make a fire with the remaining firewood, since it's our last night.  While he worked to get the fire going in heavy winds, I went down to the Bay to take some more Sunset pictures.

When i got back TG had a roaring fire to keep us warm for a few hours.

Once the wood was all gone, we put a grate over the hot wood coals and cooked up some hot dogs and a porterhouse steak - Delicious.  We ate like cavemen, cut the steak and used our fingers it was soo good. (Partly because I did a big camping no-no..brought out a plastic fork which ended up sliding into the hot coals. (in it's best wicked witch voice "I'm Mellll-tingg")..so fingers it was!

We packed it in and decided to have a movie night in the outdoor room. Set up the projector and the homemade screen, had some Tomato and Mozzarella with Balsamic dressing as a snack and we were ready.

To bad we were exhausted from our "Lazy Day"  We never did see the end!
Off to bed..Tomorrow's our day of departure :(

To be continued.......
